Neighborhood
In the 18th arrondissement, the “Villa des Platanes” is not a street but a residence consisting of several historical buildings situated around a series of tree-filled paved courtyards accessible only to residents with absolute silence: singing birds replace the Paris traffic noise. You can bathe in the atmosphere of the early twentieth century, where many important artists lived in the area… Degas, Renoir, Toulouse Lautrec, Van Gogh and Picasso.
The Moulin Rouge is just a few minutes away. The area has become well-known, thanks to the famous movie “Amélie Poulain”. You can discover the “Café” featured in the film and the ambiance surrounding "rue des Abbesses", today one of the most charming and trendiest Paris areas. The neighborhood has a gorgeous food market at the "rue Lepic", many restaurants and young fashion designer boutiques.
The beautiful and famous Sacré Coeur Cathedral and "Place du Tertre" for your souvenir portrait are nearby. |
